Chemmie Sokolic to Co-Instruct "Environmental Due Diligence" Course on November 2 and 3, 2022

Chemmie Sokolic will be co-instructing an accredited "Conducting Environmental Due Diligence in New Jersey" course with Benjamin Alter, Senior Consultant at GZA GeoEnvironmental, and Howard Davis, Esq. of Davis Environmental Law, presented by Continuing Professional Educational Services, over two half-days on November 2 and 3, 2022.

Are you or your clients involved with commercial or industrial real estate transactions in New Jersey?

Have you ever wondered...

  • What environmental risks and liabilities can potentially be associated with real estate transactions?

  • Who needs to be concerned about those risks and liabilities, and when should adequate due diligence be conducted?

  • How does environmental due diligence limit and offer protections against those risks and liabilities in New Jersey?

  • What are the typical environmental due diligence products and services, what do they include, and what do they not include?

Course Description This two half-day course is designed for all levels of due diligence professionals, attorneys, and others interested in commercial and industrial real estate. The course explores real estate environmental due diligence, and introduces some of the many laws, regulations, standards, and guidance documents from where these due diligence activities were derived.

The course focuses on the two primary types of environmental assessments in New Jersey — the ASTM E1527 Phase I Environmental Site Assessment (Phase I) and the Preliminary Assessment (PA) — the protections they offer, what they include, and what they don’t.

The course will include discussion regarding the new ASTM E1527-21 Phase I ESA standard, and how it compares to the E1527-13 standard.

Due diligence assessment insights and the role of the Licensed Site Remediation Professional will be shared throughout the course.

The class also presents certain due diligence-related legal nuances commonly encountered during real estate transactions.

Numerous case studies will be shared for illustration purposes.

This live webinar will be held over two days (November 2 and 3, 2022) between 8:30am and 12:30pm, with daily registration at 8:15am.
